When we first started planning, we needed funds to give deposits to our venue, photographer, caterer, etc… and now we are in a spending lull, which is nice. J Crew’s bridal salon is located in NY. Before having my bridesmaids order their dress, I wanted one last peak at them. So, with the extra money that’s sitting in our wedding account, I ordered every bridesmaid’s dress I’m considering. Ha! I went ahead and even ordered this long black dress, which I wasn’t considering, but it looks so pretty online. I had originally picked the color fawn (pictured below) in silk taffeta with different styles. Grant picked out the dark navy blue color. So, when the order arrives I’m having my dear friend and bridesmaid, Ashley, come over to try them all on! Should be pretty fun. Then, I can return all the dresses for a full refund. I kind of think it’s pretty genius.
I also thought I would share with you some of our photo’s from the engagement session we had with Lauren Ross. I didn’t include my favorite one because it’s on our save-the-date. As soon as I mail those puppies out, I’ll scan and share because they are amazing!
Sometimes I feel like I’m handling things in such a random order, but at least they’re getting done. This week Grant and I went to check out rooms at the Sunset Tower Hotel. While he and the rest of our guests will be staying at a separate hotel, I will stay at Sunset Tower the night before our wedding. That’s where I will be getting ready with my bridesmaids on Saturday, and where Grant and I will spend our first night as a married couple. It kind of feels silly, going to look at these hotel rooms, but I think it’s important! It was really fun and I got a warm, fuzzy feeling thinking about how I would be getting ready in that exact room on our big day.
We’re meeting my parents in Cozumel on Wednesday. I’m looking forward to having some Q.T with them and hopefully getting my tan on. It’s nothing but strapless suits this year (hint hint).
