While, I’d never claim to be the consummate expert when it comes to planning a socially conscious wedding, I do have a lot of couples who’ve made this a priority and have picked up a few tips along the way. In my latest video I talk about the five areas where you can make a bigger social impact. I talk about how to think about social impact and sustainability in details like decor, stationery, food and even attire. For example, perhaps identifying farms who implement sustainable practices into their process is important. Or if you want to make a bigger social impact, considering gown designers who have a transparent supply chain or even support and fight for livable wages for their workers might be the route to go. Or, if you still want all the things every wedding has and don’t want to skimp in any of these areas, you might consider finding ways to be more generous through platforms like our sister company, The Good Beginning, or by donating to charity on your guest’s behalf. Take a peek. I dive deeper into these tips and so much more. And as always, if you have any suggestions of your own, I’d love to share them. Feel free to email me at hello@thegoodbeginning.com or hello@bethhelmstetter.com
And as a side note, I have several other videos available both on YouTube or IGTV if you ever want a little extra planning and design help. And, again, if you have any questions you’d like to see me answer on any wedding or event related topic, my email is always open.
