I never hire design related vendors (florist, lighting, stationery, etc) before fully understanding the vision of the day. This keeps you from accidentally hiring a florist that specializes in over-the-top glamour when really you are looking for understated luxury. Truly think about what you want your day to look like and then and only then, hire the team that will help you stay cohesive to that look.
